Sea Ice data The ASCII files in this website are the monthly sea ice extent calculated from each individual model runs. Sea ice extent is defined as the area where sea ice concentration is more than 15% of the grid box. The East Bering Sea is bounded by 54 - 66N, and 175w-157W in this analysis. The units in the fils are millions square kilometers [10^6 Km^2]. Results from six models indentified by Wang and Overland (2009) are provided here. Spatial distribution of sea ice concentration can be obtained by sending request to muyin.wang@noaa.gov or nicholas.a.bond@noaa.gov Original model output can be downloaded from PCMDI web site at http://www-pcmdi.llnl.gov/ipcc/about_ipcc.php We acknowledge the modeling groups, the Program for Climate Model Diagnosis and Intercomparison (PCMDI) and the WCRP's Working Group on Coupled Modelling (WGCM) for their roles in making available the WCRP CMIP3 multi-model dataset. Support of this dataset is provided by the Office of Science, U.S. Department of Energy."
