Sea Surface Temperature The ASCII files in this column(SST) are the monthly sea surface temperature (SST) (in C) calculated from each individual model runs. SST is calculated as domain averages for South East Bering Sea(54 - 60N, and 175w-160W). The units are in degree centigrad (C). In the model the SST is set to be -1.8C when sea ice is presented. It is therefore we see occationally a negative value in the domain averaged SST. Results from six models indentified by Wang and Overland (2009) are provided here. Spatial distribution of sea ice concentration can be obtained by sending request to muyin.wang@noaa.gov or nicholas.a.bond@noaa.gov Original model output can be downloaded from PCMDI web site at http://www-pcmdi.llnl.gov/ipcc/about_ipcc.php We acknowledge the modeling groups, the Program for Climate Model Diagnosis and Intercomparison (PCMDI) and the WCRP's Working Group on Coupled Modelling (WGCM) for their roles in making available the WCRP CMIP3 multi-model dataset. Support of this dataset is provided by the Office of Science, U.S. Department of Energy."
